Rockster Project

Ideas needed: How to collect rocks with diameter ≥ 3”, and what to do with them.

Ideas needed: What are possibilities for landscaping and land use?

Already done: trees, stumps, brush, and roots were successfully removed to:

1) expose the view to western sunsets, and

2) facilitate bush hogging to prevent tree re-growth (but the rocks are problematic).

Other work:

1)          re-shaping of ground contours may be desirable before planting.

Issues: potential erosion by water.

Deadlines: rocks and contour-shaping must be dealt with before planting (of what?) in April.

Looking West, downhill 10 degrees

subsequent rains uncovered more rocks

Rockster – concept

1.          mud would gum up the works.

2.          will rocks just pile up in front of the yellow pins? or be collected into the net?

3.          the angle into the ground of the yellow pins can be set by chains to the tractor body.

4.          will dirt need to be shaken out of the red net? how?

5.          using the boom to dump rocks needs details.

Jim: Is this even do-able, and strong enough?

We can use these clamps to make the red basket.

We can use these clamps to effect right angles at the sides and rear of the red basket.
